Nevada Security Officers Firearms Training Course
(PILB White Card)

Nevada Armed Security Officers are required to complete a state mandated firearm safety training course. All courses must be conducted by a certified instructor per Nevada Law. The Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board (PILB) provides administrative oversight for private security training in Nevada.
Security Officers who carry firearms are required to complete a 13 Hour course before they can work as a licensed armed security officer. This course includes 8 hours of classroom instruction and is followed by a written examination, and 5 hours of range training followed by weapons qualification. Upon successful completion of this course the officer is issued a wallet card (To be kept by the officers and carried will on duty) as well as a training certificate that must be submitted to the Nevada Private Investigators License Board.
In Nevada, armed security officers must also complete a semi-annual live-fire weapons qualification while employed with a PILB Certified Company.
The armed security officer student must possess a referral from the company which the officer is seeking employment. In addition the student officer must have completed the application for security officer with the State of Nevada PILB and be in possession of current or provisional security officers license prior to taking the course.
Course length: 13 Hours (8 Hours Classroom / 5 Live-fire Range Training)
